At the end of that period, the employee moves to level 1 unless the employee and the employer mutually agree that further training of up to 3 months is required for the employee to achieve the necessary competency. The payment must be equivalent to the amount the employer would have been otherwise required to make pursuant to section 117 of the Act had the employer terminated the employee’s employment.
